Plumeria on Small Pillow Vase - Side One
In order to freely apply the background on this vase, I first masked off the plumeria, branches and leaf shapes. Then I applied dark luster (brown, I believe) and blotted it with a sponge. After the background dried and the mask had been removed, I fired the vase to cone 018. Next I painted the Plumeria with Mother of Pearl and the leaves and branches with luster. I again fired the vase to cone 018. Last, I outlined the Plumeria, branches and leaves with Liquid Bright Gold.
