Before adding the background, I painted the Moorish Idols and the red coral and fired the vase . After firing, I applied masking fluid over the Moorish Idol fish and the red coral. Then I applied Blue-Green luster to the top half of the jar and Midnight Blue luster to the bottom half. While the luster colors were still wet, I used Lavender Oil in the middle to merge the two colors together. To get the gradation of colors, I mixed Lavender Oil with some of the luster colors as they were applied closer to the middle line of the temple jar.
