Cranes on Modified Pillow Vase with Marbleized Background - Side One
For the cranes on the marbleized background, I first masked off the crane shapes with masking fluid. Then I applied Orange luster, letting it dry overnight. Next, without firing the luster, I applied the marbleizer over the luster. Then I fired the vase to cone 018. Next, I painted in the cranes and the side panel with black luster. This required two coats of black luster. I again fired this to cone 018. Last, I applied a band of Liquid Bright Gold between the marbleized background and the black band and around the rim of the vase.
